Delivery Update Monday 6th January 2025: Weather-Related Delays
Due to severe snow and ice affecting logistics across Ireland and the UK, there may be unexpected delays with deliveries. Met Éireann has forecast further disruptions over the next 24 hours due to worsening weather conditions. While these circumstances are beyond our control, please rest assured that we are working closely with our delivery partners to get your parcels to you as quickly as possible. DELIVERY GUIDE
Important Delivery Information:
- You will receive an email with tracking details once your gift leaves our warehouse. Please allow up to 12 hours for tracking to be activated.
- Deliveries will not occur on Good Friday or Bank Holidays as a standard policy.
- Standard deliveries are made during regular business hours (8 AM - 6 PM), Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. We cannot guarantee specific delivery dates or times.
- To guarantee a successful delivery, please provide a valid Eircode for Irish addresses or a Postcode for International addresses, along with the recipient's local phone or mobile number. We can help you find the recipient’s Eircode.
The courier may need to contact the recipient for directions. Deliveries to International addresses may be delayed if a local phone/mobile number is not provided. - If the recipient won’t be home, consider using a work address for delivery, and remember to include the business name in the details. Also, make sure the address is up to date.
- Our delivery partners will send SMS and email notifications to keep you updated on your gift’s progress. These notifications will include links for you or the recipient to change the delivery date or address if necessary. The notification will be clearly marked as from GiftsDirect.com.

Delivery Options When No One Is Home:
While we strive to deliver on your requested date, we cannot guarantee specific times. If the recipient is unavailable, either of you, can use the links in the couriers SMS and email notifications to amend the delivery date or address to a more convenient option: Alternatively they can opt for:
- Leave the delivery with a designated neighbour
- Leave it in a safe place
- Collect it from the courier depot
Please note that during the busy December period, we cannot guarantee deliveries on specific days or times. Additionally, extreme weather and Customs delays are beyond our control.
Customs Regulations:
Due to customs regulations in some countries, there are certain locations we cannot deliver to. Please refer to our list of non-delivery countries.
Some countries may require the recipient to present identification before completing the delivery.
Due to new food import regulations, we are unable to ship food items to mainland China.
Also, we cannot deliver to PO Boxes or APO addresses.
